BT Retail Business Excellence Consultant Peter Stack said BT had submitted a joint entry for the first time, with its external training partner Sterling Chase Associates.

“We were up against some really stiff competition from an initial hundreds of entries,” he said. “Indeed, it’s always hard to get beyond the first round in these sought-after awards.”

Peter added that, for a chance to win the partnership and collaboration category, strong evidence has to be provided that the collaborative partnership between a company and its training partner has led to clear and ongoing benefits in terms of skills development and business contribution.

“Thanks to some valuable input from our sales divisions - particularly BT Business - we were able to prove that our Advanced Solution Selling Skills Programme for BT people in sales roles and the associated business acceleration tools and techniques had produced some outstanding results” he said.

“This was notably achieved through the successful tailoring of our sales development programme to reflect business customers’ buying behaviour in these difficult economic times.”
